Crash kills man on U.S. 281 (8/15/2004)
A 22-year-old man died early Saturday morning when his Toyota Avalon rolled off the access road onto U.S. 281 and was hit by other cars.
The man's name was not released, because his family had not been notified.
The Avalon was northbound on the access road near Donella Drive when it rear-ended a van.
That caused the car to lose control and roll onto the freeway, according to police reports. Three other vehicles crashed while trying to avoid the car.
The driver of the van fled the scene. The 22-year-old man, died at the scene.
